Finally the forums at churchpodcasts.com are up and running again.
I guess making some noise actually worked. It only took 2 weeks to get them going again. Now to head over there and start making some noise.
A place to store my thoughts until I figure out what to do with them.

Last week I mentioned that good writing is important in just about anything you do. I linked to a site which has good writing tips. Today I came across a post on another blog which was talking about the same thing. I think it would be worth your time to check it out at ProBlogger.
Blogging should be about creativity and self expression. But if your own personal style is so far off the normal way of speaking or writing, then you will turn away your readers before they even have a chance to check out your content. Learn to be a better writer.
I ran across a web page today that I am excited about. It is called Daily Writing Tips. This is one of those pages that you want to stick into your RSS reader. You do have an RSS reader set up by now don’t you? We just talked about it last week, so I am sure you do.
They give out writing tips each day. So far the tips have been about how to improve your writing with proper grammar and spelling. For example, one of today’s tips is on word mis-use. Another is about poor spelling in advertising.
When you subscribe via RSS (here is their RSS subscription address), you can get these tips delivered to you. No need to give them your address. They won’t even know you are getting the information. But, when there is new info, your reader software will go and collect it for you so that you are always up to date.
I have mentioned before that I have taken writing courses and am interested in writing properly. I know I am not the most creative or clever writer, but I hope that I am clear and understandable (even though a bit verbose). I use my blogging as an opportunity to write something on a regular basis to hone my general writing skills. Much of my real job depends on clear writing and communication abilities.
These tips will help keep your writing on track.
I am designing a blog for my Dad. Since I had only a few hairs left, I decided that I needed to pull out the rest of it. If you want to see the progress and offer suggestions, you can see it at: www.beekeepersfriend.com
I am modifying a theme and am mostly pleased with the way it is headed. I wanted my colors to be black and yellow. But I have decided that I must have a tertiary color. Right now I am going with a grey, but am open to suggestions. I need something dark. The red (if there is still any left when you see the site) was from the original theme. That is not a good tertiary color for this. Maybe a dark pale green?
Did you get into the yo-yo craze of the 70s? What about the 90s? I was part of both. Though I don’t remember much about the craze in the 70s other than I had one and played with it all the time. The craze of the 90s I remember well. I actually got quite good with some neat tricks. I never did do multiple yo-yo tricks, but I had fun and could entertain a small crowd. Even if just for a few minutes.
I still have my Yomega Fireball that I bought back then. It was a time when money was tight and buying a $10 yo-yo was about the most I could afford. I did dream about some of the $40 yo-yos, but knew that was out of my price range and would stress the goodness of my wife too much.
Today I stumbled onto a yo-yo website (while doing a Google image search for dripping paint?) and was just curious as to what they are selling for these days. It was good to see that there are still a good handful of toys selling in the sub $15 category. But then I looked at the high end too. Yikes! The most expensive unit they have is the $450 Freehand MG Anodized. And who makes it? Duncan. Yup, the same people who make your basic $3 unit.
So you can go to both extremes with the company who started it all.
