Stating the obvious

Today I was in a Mexican restaurant for lunch. On the section of quesadillas there was a line of small text under the heading that read, “All quesadillas include cheese.” Without the cheese it could not be a quesadilla.

Tonight I was reading through the paper and they were telling the story about a teen who was shot. “The victim, described as a male teen …. was reportedly shot in the back. He was shot at least once.” That kind of makes sense to me that if he was shot at all, he was shot at least once.

Page 56 rules for Twitter

This is the standard page 56 meme, but the rules are too long to list on Twitter.

Rules:

  • Grab the book nearest you. Not your favorite or coolest, but closest.
  • Turn to page 56.
  • Find the fifth sentence.
  • Post that sentence along with the shortened URL for the rules.

Shortened URL: http://bit.ly/4AEm

You can use your twitter client to make the URL for you if you wish.

Last day of NaBloPoMo

I have managed to post something each day during the month of November. The question now is, “Did I post stuff of value? Or did I just manage to clog up the Internet’s tubes?”

Good thing the month ended today. I am headed to a place where I will have occasional Internet access. My web time will be limited to how long I can stand sitting at Burger King drinking a Diet Coke.

Coming up…

I have been on the road most of the afternoon. When I got to the place I am staying I was really pressed for time to get my blog post of the day out. Instead of a full post I will just give you a preview of what I have planned.

  • How to install an ad blocker in Firefox
  • How to make your own microwave popcorn
  • Half marathon plans
  • Hammer Nutrition sale

These are all subjects that I plan to write about in the next few days.

Stay tuned!

NaNoWriMo and NaBloPoMo

November is NaNoWriMo, National Novel Writing Month. The idea is to write 50,000 words in the month of November on a brand new novel. That is about 1,666 words a day, each day for the month. That is a lot of writing. 50,000 words is the size of a doctoral thesis.

In the spirit of NaNoWriMo, there is also NaBloPoMo, which is National Blog Posting Month. Instead of having a certain number of words you are working towards, this is just about writing a post each day of the month.

I am not up to NaNoWriMo mostly because I don’t have any interest in novels–reading or writing. But, I do want to give NaBloPoMo a shot. The nice thing about it is that it is not limited to the month of November. It can be done any month. But, I choose this month to be my time anyway.

I will still be traveling for half the month, but I should be able to get some type of Internet access each day. Even if I have to write a post from my phone.

Day 1 is done!
