Big race this weekend

Phedippidations World Wide Half logoThe Phedippidations World Wide Half Marathon is this weekend, October 7 and 8. For those who don’t know about this event you may be wondering how long it takes to run 13.1 miles. Well, it won’t take all of the 7th and 8th. We aren’t that crazy. Because this is a race where we will be running on our own course (some official and some not) we can run any time during the weekend.

Some results are already posted. So far times are between 1:25 and 2:45. I will be somewhere in between those times, but certainly closer to the 2:45. Look for my result to be posted there sometime Saturday afternoon or evening. I have race number 13.
I will run Saturday morning through the streets of Mérida

There are 535 people registered to run at this writing. This number has shot up quite a bit in the last few days. I guess people put off registering for a free race as late as possible. That is a bad habit to be in for big race events that can be full just minutes after opening for registration.

Good luck to all my fellow runners. Stay safe. Run well.

  1. Good Luck on your race. I guess yours is an unofficial race since I can’t think that there will be very many officials in Merida.
